Habanero peppers are an extremely hot chile pepper, some 10 times hotter than a jalapeño pepper. At that level it is truly hard to measure (for this gringo anyway) heat level. While I enjoy spicy foods and think peppers like the jalapeño and Serrano are wonderful these little devils called Habanero are to be respected! The Habanero pepper is grown and cultivated in Costa Rica, the Caribbean, California and Texas, it can be substituted with another incredibly hot pepper the scotch bonnet.
